Producer
Distinctive Developments are the biggest and best independent mobile games developer in the UK. Located in the heart of Sheffield city centre they have a second to none reputation amongst the leading mobile game publishers. Their clients include Electronic Arts, I-play, Namco, iFone and PlayerOne. They have been nominated for a BAFTA games award two years in a row for their work on FIFA Football and 3D Pool.
You will be responsible for planning and managing the production of some of the best selling mobile games in the industry. You will be required to work closely with the development team and provide regular updates to management. You will report directly to the development manager.
Responsibilities
- Take on responsibility for delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Work with management to attain world-class quality levels.
- Responsible for motivating and providing guidance to the development team.
- Work closely with the development manager to ensure internal processes are adhered to.
- Communicate with clients and maintain good working relationships.
- Help with documentation production and maintenance.
- Provide regular project updates to management.
- Safeguarding company assets and know-how.
Qualifications
- Over 2 years production experience in either mobile entertainment or console games.
- Excellent games industry knowledge.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to motivate and work well within a team environment.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Mobile industry knowledge a large plus.
- Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
- Attention to detail.
- A love of games.

C/C++ Programmer

You will be responsible for developing mobile games across multiple handsets to world-class quality levels. You will work with others within the development team to bring the game design to life. You will report directly to the project lead and producer.
Responsibilities
- Developing all aspects of mobile games; AI, rendering and game-play.
- Working with the project producer to schedule development.
- Provide regular written reports of progress to the producer.
- Produce readable/maintainable code adhering to the coding standards.
- Write technical design documentation.
Qualifications
- 2+ years games programming on either mobile or console games.
- Very strong C/C++ programming ability.
- Ideally experience of BREW or Symbian programming.
- Quickly learn new API's and technology.
- Self-motivated and an eye for detail.
- A love of games.

- A 1st class degree or MSC in a related subject.
- Strong C/C++ or Java programming ability.
- Ideally experience of mobile phone programming

Responsibilities
- Producing 2D bitmap graphics and animations.
- Producing 3D renders and in-game models.
- Working with the project producer to schedule development.
- Work with the creative manager to create graphics to the required look and feel.
- Create graphics in the required format for in-house tools.
Qualifications
- Good 2D (pixel) artwork portfolio.
- Proficient user of 3D Studio Max and Photoshop.
- Strong portfolio of published titles.
- Highly motivated and an eye for detail.
